The 2017 shopping fast

If you guys have been following me from the beginning, you know that I did a " No Shopping Year" 2 years ago, and I loved the experience! And now I have decided to do it again! Last year I had a shopping list for the year and I could only buy things from there, well, this year is going to be different. I have already started this challenge on January 1st, and it has been going great! I'm going to give you guys updates every 2 months.
       The Rules      
1. Only buying replacements for worn out items. This may not be needed, but you never know.. a disaster may happen.

2. I can buy beauty products that need to be replaced... and also for reviews. I have been doing a lot of reviews, and I want to continue with that, so I must buy them.

3. No wishlist this time! 

4. I can buy Presents. Only for friends and family.

5. I can still spend my money on experiences. Things like plane tickets, dinners, cinema, going out.

The 1 year shopping fast recap

If you guys have been following my Shopping Fast journey, this will be no news for you. I decided to create a list from all the things I bought and got rid of during the months I have been on this journey. This way I can really visualize what happened through the entire year and analyze my journey. My experience started August 2015, here is the one year list:

AUGUST

Shopping Fast: Month Nine

THINGS I WANTED TO BUY, BUT DIDN’T:
May was my Birthday month, so of course, I knew I was going to get/buy some gifts, but I didn't get as much as I thought I would, and that was fine by me.

WHAT I DID END UP BUYING:
+ Deliciously Ella book
+ One piece swimsuit
+ Black jogging's

WHAT DID I LET GO OF:
+ Old bikini

NOTES: I'm loving the fact that I can finally find the perfect pieces for me instead of going around buying pieces that are just OK. Like the bathing suit, for example, I know now what I should have been wearing all these years. And I'm loving it !

Maio foi o mes do meu aniversario, por isso sabia que ia receber algumas prendas, mas mesmo assim não comprei/recebi tantas coisas como normalmente costumo, e ate foi um alivio.

 NOTAS: Estou cada vez mais a adorar conseguir encontrar as peças certas para mim em vez de me contentar com peças que são simplesmente medianas. Como por exemplo o meu novo fato de banho, agora finalmente sei que era este estilo que devia ter comprado ha muito tempo. E estou a adora-lo!

Shopping Fast: Month Eight

THINGS I WANTED TO BUY, BUT DIDN’T:
I believe that this April I was a very good girl. I have been so focused on work and creating a home for me and my boyfriend, that shopping was the last think on my list of things to worry about. I did want to buy a new pair os home shoes and an awesome jewelry box that I saw on Zara Home, but maybe next month.

WHAT I DID END UP BUYING:

WHAT DID I LET GO OF:
+ White Sweater
+ Black & White sweater
+ Somo old jewelry

NOTES: I can see my wardrobe changing a lot. I can see a lot of pieces being replaced with better ones, or even entirely different pieces, but still, pieces that I love. This shopping fast is being a great challenge for me and I love it. I especially love the months when I get almost nothing, those are definitely the best!

This March I haven't thought about shopping, only as a necessity, because I did buy a few new items to replace old ones.

WHAT DID I LET GO OF:

+ Tops that I used to wear under blouses
+ Old pair of Sandals
+ Black Asymmetrical shirt that shrunk in the wash

NOTES: I crossed a few items from my 2016 wishlist, and added 2 more items due to the need of replacing some pieces from my closet, like a new pair of summer sandals.

Shopping Fast: Month Six

THINGS I WANTED TO BUY, BUT DIDN’T:
The only thing I had on my mind this February was my new home, so the only shopping that crossed my mind was home decor. I was able to get everything that I wanted and needed.

WHAT I DID END UP BUYING:
+ Long lasting lip stain from Kiko
+ Home decorations from IKEA

WHAT DID I LET GO OF:
+ A pair of pants that got ruined with bleach
+ Some pieces that I decluttered when I moved
+ Socks with no pairs
+ Some old beauty products

NOTES: The month went by so fast! I do have 2 or 3 things that I need to add to my 2016 wishlist, but so far so good. Month six was easy peasy, let's see how the rest of the year goes!

This January went by so fast, I could only concentrate on buying things for my house, but I did buy a few items with my Christmas money that I had in my 2016 wishlist, so they where actually Christmas presents.

NOTES: This month I got a few things with my Christmas money, I always get money for Christmas so that on the sales season I can buy some pieces that I'm needing.

In November there where a few things that I wanted to buy, but mostly home decor pieces, but I contained myself and was a very good girl. So proud!

+ Old dressing gown

NOTES: I was very good this past two months, probably due to the crazy amount of work I have been doing lately, I enjoyed spending my money on delicious meals with my boyfriend and fun activities with my friends.

This October I was naughty and bought a few things. So there was nothing I didn't get this month, I bought a few things that were on my list and that was it.

WHAT DID I LET GO OF:
+ A pair of gym leggings

NOTES: This month I was a bit naughty, but all for a good cause, my wishlist from this year. So it was all pieces that I really needed or that I needed to replace. From now on, I think I'm only buying some few gifts for Christmas, nothing else.

Shopping Fast: Month Two

THINGS I WANTED TO BUY, BUT DIDN’T:
This September I had a few things that I wanted to buy, like a cozy robe to wear around the house. I saw a few but I didn't really like any of them, so I didn't buy one .. yet. I also wanted to buy a lot of Caudalie products, but I just ended up buying a small travel set to try out some of the products.

WHAT I DID END UP BUYING:
+ A gift for a friends birthday
+ A gift for my Boyfriend
+ 3 new tops to replace old ones
+ A travel kit from Caudalie

WHAT DID I LET GO OF:

NOTES: I'm happy with this month. Although I did buy some stuff it was all things on my list and that needed to be replaced. This is going really well and I hope it continues like this .

Shopping Fast: Month One

August has passed so quickly and I must say that shopping was not on my mind this month. I did spend a reasonable amount of money on my Coffee Shop and some on our bedroom decor, but other than that it was a great month. This shopping fast is starting really well, and I hope it continues this way for the rest of the year.

THINGS I WANTED TO BUY, BUT DIDN’T:
Nothing at all. I knew this month was going to be the big no buy. I had to invest in the coffee shop and I had some bills to pay, so I knew I could not spend any money.

WHAT I DID END UP BUYING:
   + A new pair of black jeans to replace my old pair.
   + Decor pieces for my bedroom
   + Item/furniture for my Coffee Shop expansion ( this is an investment on my workplace )

WHAT DID I LET GO OF:
   + A gray t-shirt because it kept falling off my shoulder
   + A pair of leopard flats because I got tired of them.
   + Old pajamas
   + I converted one of my t-shirts so a lounge/sleepwear.

NOTES: I hope this continues as easily as it has started. I know I'm still going to spend some money, I know I still have a few items on my wishlist, but I hope this list won't grow anymore this year.

The 1 year Shopping Fast

I need to make some changes in my life. I'm trying to save money to move to London with my boyfriend, and I think this might be the right way to do it. I found this idea on the blog of the lovely Maja, she did this challenge for 10 months, but I will try and do it for 1 year. I hope I'm successful, I do really want to save some money so I can start a new life in London. I will update on this matter every month, as Maja did, but for now, I leave here the rules that I created for myself based on my needs and lifestyle.

T H E   R U L E S

1. Only buying replacements for worn out items. This may not be needed, but you never know.. a disaster may happen (knock on wood!)

2. I can buy beauty products that need to be replaced. Most probably I'm only going to buy stuff like shampoo and body wash.

3. I'm allowed to get what I wrote on my 2015 wishlist. These are things that I have been looking for this past year, and haven't found the perfect ones. So if I find them I can buy them.

4. I'm allowed to buy Presents. Not for me, but for friends and family.

5. Home decor items but no more than 100€. I'm moving, so I do need to decorate the bedroom, but that's it, just items for the bedroom.

6. I can spend my money on experiences. Things like plain tickets, dinners, cinema.
